The Cherry Street Art Fest
watercolor The Cherry Street Art Fest is a one day fair on Saturday, August 6, 2011 in Watseka, Illinois—just a short 90 minutes south of Chicago—on the tree-lined lawn surrounding the picturesque old Iroquois County Court House. The art fair will feature a broad range of artists showcasing their talents; food vendors with tasty treats; and the ever popular historical "Legends" monologues. "Taste of Watseka" will feature homemade foods that represent the local culture including grilled turkey legs, Walking Tacos, homemade ice cream and kettle corn. Those honored in this year's "Legends" monologues will tell the stories of the Niagara Excursion Train (told by "Mrs. Isaac Body"), Beaverville's Holy Family Academy (told by "Josie O'Donnell") the Orphan Trains, and the One Room Schoolhouse.

Held in conjunction with the annual Sugar Creek Opera Festival, the Cherry Street Art Fest offers high-quality, original arts and crafts to the more than 1,000 cultural tourists who flock to the Festival each year. This year, Sugar Creek Opera Festival will sponsor an "All American Made" table that will sell items made only in the USA. Now in its ninth year, the Festival will host world-class singers and musicians the weekend of Aug. 4–7, 2011.
